Please find this week’s home learning tasks below. As well as these tasks, remember to do 5 sessions of Reading Plus, Doodle Maths and Doodle English and Times Tables Rockstars. You will find this week’s spellings on your class page too.
English - Guided Reading
We are focusing on newspaper articles this week. For this task, read the newspaper article and answer the questions that are on the second page. The file is below called “guided reading lesson”.
GPS – Determiners
A determiner is a word that introduces a noun such as a, an, every, three, many and those. This activity will ask you to identify determiners in a sentence and then you will need to choose the correct determiner to add into a sentence. See the file below called “GPS – determiners worksheet”.
English – Write a newspaper article
Your task is to write a newspaper article about the Vikings attack on Lindesfarme. Watch the video to find information about the attack and answer the questions underneath.

Art – Viking Shield
It’s time for you to prepare your very own Viking shield ready for battle! Have a look at the file called “Viking shield examples” to see some Viking shield designs and then have a go at creating your own.
