This week we have lots of things to cover, from Viking gods, to Viking battle tactics and weapons to starting our Christmas decorations! We hope you have a great week and start to get festive!

English – Guided Reading

Please read the text about Viking weapons and battle tactics called “weapons and battle tactics” and then answer the questions below. The extension task is for you to have a go at designing your own Viking Shield.

GPS – Synonyms

Synonyms are words that mean the same, for example happy and joyful.  The worksheet below called “GPS-synonyms” will help you to understand what a synonym is and asks you to find more examples. You may want to use a thesaurus or google to help you.

English – Writing – The theft of Thor’s hammer

For writing this week, we are going re-write a story about the Viking God – Thor.

Please see the powerpoint below called “Thor Story powerpoint” for details on your task.

You will also need to look at “Theft of Thor’s Hammer” and “Thor story map”

Art / DT – Salt dough decorations

This week, we will be decorating our class rooms and putting our class Christmas trees up. Why not join in at home?! Please see the powerpoint called “Salt dough decorations” for instructions on how to make these decorations.

In addition to this, you can make Christmas chains to hand around your house.

Viking Gods Research

Have a look at this website with some facts about the Viking gods.
