Austin’s butterfly

Hello everyone, today we would like you to watch the video on the link below, to learn about Austin’s butterfly

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqh1MRWZjms

In the video we learn that Austin was able to really improve his drawing by asking for feedback from the people around him and by doing multiple drafts.

Today we would like you to have a go at this.

Choose something that you would like to draw. This could be a character from a game, an animal or insect, a photograph in your house etc.

Once you have done your first attempt, ask the people around you for tips and advice.

Key questions you could ask them are:

What do you think of the shape?

Do you like the colours/ shading?

Is the angle of the lines right?

Are the sizes correct?

When the questions have been answered, go back and have another go so that you can make the improvements. You should try to do at least 3 attempts.

After the third one, compare them. Can you see an improvement? How did the work develop as you went along?

You may want to write a sentence about your key successes next to your final draft to celebrate your achievements.
