Governors
Our Governors
The Governing body at Snaith Primary School is made up of a voluntary, dedicated and hardworking group of people from a variety of backgrounds. They regularly attend meetings and often visit, taking an interest and an active role in the life of our school. Through the roles and responsibilities they undertake, they monitor the quality of teaching and learning throughout the curriculum, ensure the children’s welfare needs are met, monitor the spending of the school budget and offer their support, advice and expertise to staff and parents. While the day to day running of the school is the responsibility of the Head Teacher, the Governors act as a critical friend to ensure that the school runs effectively, providing outstanding provision in all areas for all members of our wonderful school community.

WHAT DO THE GOVERNORS’ DO?
All Governors meet at least twice every term with additional monthly meetings arranged for the Finance Committee. The Governors work in partnership with Mrs Calpin in a strategic role with regard to the aims and objectives to improve the school, monitoring the School Budget, and considering and approving School Policies. Governors are also involved with the appointment of teaching staff, attend relevant training and when the opportunity arises work with other Governing bodies.
The Governors take great pride in the schools achievements and celebrations and work alongside staff and often meet the children to ensure they can fully support the school in its future developments.
The Governors welcome the opportunity to meet with parents at school functions and at any other time by request.
